This is an exceptionally well produced and preserved 1919-S cent that is sure to appeal to astute Lincoln cent collectors. Wonderfully original surfaces exhibit flashes of golden-olive iridescence against the autumnal-orange mint color. Frosty in texture and remarkably smooth, the strike is equally impressive with bold to sharp detail throughout the design. At 139,760,000 pieces produced, the 1919-S has the highest mintage of any small cent issue up to that point in time. Unfortunately, softly defined coins struck from worn dies make up much of the extant Mint State population. This is a noteworthy departure from that norm, a Condition Census premium Gem that would serve as a highlight in an advanced collection.
