Lot Description

Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-103, one of the common die-marriages for 1812 and a superb choice for date purposes as a result. As usual, both sides display faint signs of clashed dies, this example also fully invigorated by ravishing violet-grey luster. The grade was probably on the fast track to MS-63 until NGC discovered some modest noise on the neck and traces of dirt between the vertical lines of the shield on the reverse, but anyone who enjoys original material will want to take a second and third look.
