Lot Description
1900-O Barber Half Dollar. MS-65 (PCGS). A quick glance at the current PCGS Population Report should be enough to convince even the most skeptical numismatist that the 1900-O Barber Half Dollar is a rare issue even in the lowest Mint State grades. Clearly, very few examples of this issue were set aside by contemporary dealers, even fewer in fact that some of the other Barber Half Dollar issues from the New Orleans Mint. As a softly frosted, minimally abraded Gem, the present example is a solid Condition Census survivor that belongs in the finest collection. Bold-to-sharp in most areas, the only mentionable softness of strike is confined to the eagle's right (facing) wing on the reverse--a common area of striking problems on Half Dollars of this type. Brilliant and attractive, this coin represents a fleeting bidding opportunity for the advanced numismatist.
