- Snow-9, perhaps, as some diagnostic areas have been worn to an extent as to make attribution more cagey than usual, although by no means is that meant as a disparagement. On the contrary, for an 1856 with thirty points of wear, this is an absolutely delightful example, in part due to the gorgeous, thick dark-chocolate patina enveloping the entire surface. An extremely faint, old pinscratch on the upper wing has worn almost completely smooth, and another above "E" of ONE on the reverse is also of no consequence at all. Aside from that, the surface has remained incredibly free from abrasions, yet still retains traces of dark grunge that speak to an extraordinarily level of original quality.
