- A SLEEPER DATE in this lofty state of preservation. GLOWING cartwheel luster graces satiny fields. Known as a well struck date and this coin does not disappoint. Although a minor error, it is still desirable among variety collectors as it is only one of very few varieties actually known in the Saint Gauden double eagle series from 1907-1933. A second D can be seen to the right of the mintmark. With a strong loupe a contact mark is noted in the field beneath the olive branch and a darker toned area is beneath the eagle’s claw. PCGS 58, NGC 54. PCGS has graded just 7 in MS66+ and one finer. The last one to sell in auction was CAC and brought $21,150 in our January 2020 Regency Auction and the current PCGS Price Guide value is $30,000. Good luck! Cert. Number 38821401 PCGS # 145010
