Lot Description
1799 Capped Bust Right Eagle. Taraszka-22, HBCC-3191, BD-10. Rarity-3. Large Obverse Stars. MS-64 (NGC). The final known die marriage of the 1799 Capped Bust Right eagle, and the most frequently encountered in today's market, BD-10 has long been popular for early gold type purposes. As with all pre 1834 U.S. gold coin varieties, the 1799 BD-10 eagle is scarce in an absolute sense and decidedly rare in the finest Mint State grades, especially from a market availability standpoint. With radiant yellow-gold surfaces and a bright, semi prooflike finish from the dies, this captivating near-Gem is sure to entice the advanced collector. Well balanced in strike and overall sharp, a very appealing piece.
