- THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION, PART V Semi-reflective satiny surfaces gleam from below a pale dove/pewter/antique silver overtone. An exacting strike left the devices keenly rendered and crisply defined on both sides. Some old light lines in the fields may limit the grade, but as they are so minor and require a glass to see them, from a naked eye stand point this coin has a great look. Do not let the large mintage fool you, the 45-O half dollar was a work horse in the antebellum economy and Mint State survivors are RARE, each grade level in Mint State has a single digit pop at both services. PCGS 4, NGC 7. The most recent NGC-graded example brought $1,250 in May 2022 and the Collectors Universe value is $1,500. NGC has graded just 22 finer in all grades. A neat date for the collector. Cert. Number 4741280013 PCGS # 6249
