- This mirrorlike 1882-S dollar is at the top of the census for PCGS DMPL coins, with a few others joining in, but none higher. Both obverse and reverse are mirrorlike, the obverse particularly so and closely resembling a Proof. The reverse has a few areas of what we might call semi-luster, but still passes PCGS inspection. A few surface marks are seen here and there, typical of DMPL, for the mirror surfaces keep no secrets when they come into contact with other coins. The striking is sharp and the overall aspect is very pleasing.
