Lot Description

146.6 grains. Perfect die state, Newman A/A, with no cracks on either the obverse or reverse. Blending walnut-brown and olive-copper patina, this is a handsome piece that earns high praise for originality. It is also boldly defined throughout the design, although the centering is not quite ideal with the sun and lowermost rings flush with the upper obverse and lower reverse borders, respectively. A minor flan flaw at the final digit 7 in the date and a few others at upper left reverse are mentioned solely for accuracy, as is light surface build up on the reverse. With even a coin in an AU Details holder significant for the Newman 7-T attribution, this nicely composed and attractive Choice EF will surely catch the eye of astute Fugio copper enthusiasts.
