The 19-S is a very challenging date to find in high grade; despite a mintage of 1.836 million pieces, they were just not saved at the time of issue. Fully struck examples in high grade are rarer still. While not fully rendered, the devices show fuller definition than usually seen. A bold underlying luster brings life to the overlay of rich album toning on both sides. We have looked this coin over, and do not understand the MS64 grade assigned by PCGS, the surfaces are very clean and have the look of a GEM. PCGS 53, NGC 26. The most recent example sold for $5,640 in August 2022 and before that, one sold in June 2022 for $6,600. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,750.
