1854-C Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. Winter-1, the only known dies. VF-30 (PCGS). CAC. A richly original mid-grade example bathed in warm khaki-gold patina. The obverse is a bit more sharply defined overall, although both sides retain full outline detail to all devices with the design readily appreciable. The 1854-C, just 7,295 coins produced, ranks among the top 10 rarest Charlotte Mint quarter eagles in today's market.
