Losbeschreibung: 1837 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-11. Rarity-1. Head of 1838. MS-63 BN (NGC). A lovely Choice Mint State example with a fantastic pedigree that adds to the desirability. Attractive toning of deep chocolate and olive-brown in the fields contrasting lighter steel on the devices creating a subtle cameo effect. No marks or spots and has generous frosty luster on both sides. E-MDS with clear repunching on the 1 of the date. Provenance: From the John McBride Collection. Earlier from B.
