Lot Description

1786 New Jersey Copper. Maris 23-R, W-4945. Rarity-3. Curved Plow Beam, Narrow Shield, Blundered Six. EF-40 (PCGS). 138.8 grains. Even and glossy chocolate brown with good eye appeal. Obverse aligned slightly to left but with denticles all around, reverse aligned to 6 o'clock. Some thin patina is seen around the plowhandles, among UN of UNUM, and elsewhere; some hairlines visible in the field as well. Aside from the minor marks at the centers that are planchet texture that pre-dates striking, no significant marks are noted. A handsome piece. Provenance: From the E Pluribus Unum Collection.
