Losbeschreibung: An attractive piece with glints of powder blue and antique gold iridescence on orange-brown surfaces. The lower left obverse and upper left reverse borders are smooth and devoid of denticulation, typical of the attribution, but the balance of the surfaces host uncommonly bold detail for a survivor from these dies. Minimally marked from a brief stay in circulation, the surfaces are pleasingly smooth in hand and show no singularly distracting marks.<p>This is the Thin Planchet variant of the 1795 Cohen-5 attribution, and it is scarce with Ed Fuhrman accounting for only 225 to 250 coins extant in the 2022 volume of his <em>Half cent Handbook</em>. Most are well worn, if not also impaired, making this bold and handsome PCGS-certified Choice EF a rare half cent that is worthy of serious bidder consideration.
