The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is boldly doubled on this challenging modern rarity. Iridescent toning overtones accent fiery brilliant red surfaces. Well struck, and well defined, this VERY CHOICE example has a wonderful look. This variety, is the fourth most dramatically doubled die in the extensive Lincoln cent series, behind the 1955, 1958, and 1972; it falls behind just the 1958 and 1969-S in terms of overall rarity. An important coin for the advanced Lincoln cent collector. PCGS 36, NGC 11. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,150 and there are three APRs from earlier this year in the $2,400 to $3,240 range. This pleasing coin will fall into that range when the hammer falls. RARE finer, with just 32 graded higher in the RD category, and only one of these has sold in major public auction since 2004!
