153.3 grains. A second Newman 8-B from our current sale of the Richard August Collection, acquired by Mr. August to represent the latest state of this die pairing. The obverse is cracked both at the top of the digit 7 in the date and into the sun's rays at 11 o'clock, reverse crack at 8 o'clock into ring 10 bolder and more pronounced. This is a well centered example, generally bold to sharp in detail with the only mentionable softness involving the rings at upper reverse. Nice walnut-brown with a hint of antique gold, a few minor planchet fissures around and left of the gnomon on the obverse and a pair of tiny carbon spots along the left reverse border are the only blemishes of note on otherwise smooth-looking surfaces,
