- 1837 Classic Head Half Eagle. HM-1. Rarity-4. EF-45 (PCGS). CAC. Rich honey-olive patina blankets both sides and speaks volumes about the originality of this handsome piece. The rarest entry in the Philadelphia Mint's Classic Head half eagle series, the 1837 has an extant population of only 450 or so coins in all grades (per Daryl J. Haynor, 2020). PCGS# 8175.
