- "1823" Matron Head Cent. N-3. Rarity-2. Die State C. Private Restrike. Copper. MS-66 BN (PCGS). Prominent die cracks and areas of die rust are as struck and diagnostic of the type. Of post-production detractions we see nothing of note, however, the surfaces expectably well preserved at the upper reaches of Gem quality. Dominant gray-brown patina, with more vivid medium-orange luster still quite evident at the borders.
