Description du lot
A KEY date in any grade, the 21-D has the LOWEST mintage in the entire Walking Liberty half dollar series. In Mint State the date is quite difficult to find in any grade. A thick, frosty, satin mint luster glows with a rich sheen. Delicately dusted with a pearly-pewter-silver with a tinge of soft lilac. Sharply struck, the design elements are mostly crisp, and the thumb is fully separated from the rest of Liberty's hand. Nice quality overall, no doubt would have been called "CHOICE BU" in the old days. PCGS 32, NGC 20. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $8,400 in November 2018 and prior to that, one sold in December 2018 for $8,700. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $11,000. Very scarce any finer, this is a great coin for any collector working on a classic looking Mint State set. Cert. Number 38460386 PCGS # 6584
