- 127.6 grains. Lustrous chocolate brown surfaces with traces of natural red color clinging to some of the peripheral details. A few darker surface deposits in some of the recesses, but overall a very choice coin with excellent details and abundant eye appeal. Centered slightly high on the obverse and a little low on the reverse but only the bases of the date digits are compromised. Though a relatively common variety, this is one of the nicest we have handled in many years. The Perkins-Twin Leaf coin was similar, but on a more impaired flan. No others in our archives are close. The Ford coin was also similar but poorly defined at the effigy's face and graded lower. The Hall-Hessberg-Partrick coin was also nice, but less well-detailed. This is certainly Condition Census, and probably ranks close to CC#1.<p>
