Losbeschreibung
1813 Classic Cent. S-292. Rarity-2. MS-61 BN (NGC). Medium golden-brown with lighter highlights throughout. Struck from worn and stressed dies with metal flow lines drawing the peripheral devices and legends to the rims. The obverse is not noticeably marked, but a patch of roughness is seen at ERIC on the reverse, and an old scratch is noted at the bow. John Reich's Classic Head cent design, 1808-1814, is represented today by very few Mint State pieces regardless of date. Any Uncirculated Classic Head cent is a Condition Rarity, and bidding activity for the occasional piece that comes to auction usually supports that premise. We suspect the bidding for this lot will reflect the rarity of the date and grade combination offered here.
