Lot Description

Rich deep honey and more vivid orange-rose colors greet the viewer from both sides of this handsome specimen. Blushes of silvery patina further enhance the centers, especially on the obverse. Lightly marked and hairlined in the fragile fields, which is typical for the assigned grade, although there are no sizeable or otherwise individually mentionable blemishes. Of the 205 Proofs struck for this issue, certainly far fewer than that total can be accounted for today. A relatively affordable example of a scarce classic Proof gold issue, providing a nice opportunity for an alert collector.
