Losbeschreibung: A wonderfully flashy Prooflike GEM 90-O dollar. Blast white untoned silver surfaces have a bold, brilliant luster and wonderfully reflective fields. The devices are crisp and frosty standing out from the watery fields surrounding. There are some light and stray traces of contact, which are minimal and do not interfere with the eye appeal or disrupt the fragile nature of the Prooflike surfaces. PCGS 42, NGC 13, CAC 13. There are just five coins graded higher in the PL designation. The last PCGS MS65 PL CAC to sell in auction was in November 2014--over seven long years ago. The market for quality Morgan dollars has gone way up since then, and clearly the lack of appearances in auction have kept the published levels low. Over six years ago, we sold a marginally finer MS65+ PL CAC for $4,348 and that coin today is listed at $6,000 in the PCGS Price Guide. We think this bold Prooflike GEM should sell for a strong bid.
