1862 Liberty Eagle. EF-40 (PCGS). OGH. 1901-S Liberty Eagle. MS-65 (PCGS). OGH--First Generation. A sharply struck, reddish-orange example with enough detail to suggest an AU grade. The surfaces are quite scuffy, however, perhaps explaining the EF designation assigned by PCGS. Produced to the extent of just 10,960 pieces, the business strike 1862 eagle is a scarce find in lower grades that develops into a conditionally rare coin above VF/EF.
