- 1878 Morgan Silver Dollar. 8 Tailfeathers. VAM-14.8. Spiked Eye. MS-63 DMPL (PCGS). This lovely silver dollar exhibits highly reflective fields that support sharply defined, satin to softly frosted devices. It is brilliant apart from crescents of iridescent pinkish-russet along the upper obverse and lower reverse borders. An impressive strike and condition rarity for the variety, which derives its popular Spiked Eye name from the prominent die line protruding from Liberty's eye just below the eyelid.
