- Mintage: 7500. That an MS-63 coin of any type could look as nice as this is somewhat amazing, but then again, the 1887 gold dollar benefited from outstanding production off of low-mintage, well prepared dies. No noticeable abrasions whatsoever visit either side, the grade probably determined by light hairlines and trivial darker deposits. Struck from late dies, and not prooflike at all.
