1844-O Liberty Seated Half Dime. V-2. Small O. VF-25 (PCGS). CAC. A richly and originally toned example awash in blended charcoal-olive and steel-gray. Direct viewing angles call forth powder blue and antique gold undertones - very attractive for the grade. Struck from nearly medallic alignment of the dies. The 1844-O is an elusive and conditionally challenging half dime. Much of its mintage of 220,000 pieces was absorbed by the rigors of commerce in the "Big Easy," and few circulated survivors at any grade level are as attractive and problem free as the present specimen.
