1870 Liberty Seated Dime. Proof-66+ Cameo (NGC). Cobalt blue and tawny gold at the peripheries, the centers toned in clear gold and showing the bold frostiness of the devices. The obverse fields exhibit the willynilly die marks that stem from a die finisher's attempts to clear the die face, making the surfaces a sheer delight to study under magnification today. High quality 1870 Proof dimes are not a rarity, though this specimen is among the few very finest pieces seen by NGC.
