Lot Description
1835 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-103. Rarity-2. MS-65 (PCGS). A delightful Gem with rich antique toning and glowing surfaces that teem with satiny luster. The obverse displays a variegated patina of sapphire-blue, sea green, orange, violet, and tan-gray. The reverse is mostly untoned with just a modicum of the obverse toning colors at the borders. Unbroken cartwheel luster swirls around both sides, illuminating the attractive patina and revealing the exceptionally well-preserved nature of the surfaces. A solid Condition Census example of the die variety and all around beautiful Capped Bust half dollar. Provenance: From the Richard Jewell Collection. Earlier ex Jason Carter, November 2001; Eugene H. Gardner; Heritage's sale of the Eugene H. Gardner Collection, Part III, May 2015, lot 98457. PCGS# 6168. NGC ID: 24FZ. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
