Lot Description

Blended golden-brown and olive-gray patina on the obverse contrasts with deeper reverse color in olive-copper and mahogany. Obverse fairly well centered, although the periphery at lower left is soft, border denticulation absent in all areas save for at lower right. The reverse is aligned to upper left with the top of the letters E PLURIBU soft. The date and peripheral legends are legible, nonetheless, and the central motifs are bold for the grade. A few minor flan flaws on the obverse are as made and trivial; two spots in the field below the plow handles and a carbon deposit at the second letter A in CAESAREA are noted.
