1722 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.3-Bc.1, W-12730. Rarity-4. First Type, Harp at Left. AU-53 (PCGS). 117.3 grains. Dark brown and attractive with smooth wear on the uppermost devices and no corrosion or thick patina. The surfaces are pleasing and the planchet smooth as well, save for a minor crack in the flan that crosses the stop above Georgius's head into his hair. An elegant, high grade example of this die pairing. The reverse stop before HIBERNIA has the "eyebrow" repunching to the left, this feature is diagnostic to the reverse die.
