- The Philadelphia Mint's final delivery of this design type amounting to 3,920,000 circulation strikes. Most 1891 quarters circulated well into the 20th century, and since many others were set aside at the time of delivery the issue is plentiful today in all circulated and most Mint State grades. The offered coin, however, is a notable exception. It is a stunning strike and condition rarity with an uncommon degree of reflectivity in the fields. The design elements are fully defined and softly frosted in texture, the entire package bright and brilliant to allow ready appreciation of the PL qualities. A gorgeous Gem fit for inclusion in an advanced type set or the finest Liberty Seated quarter collection.
