1849 Gold Dollar. Dannreuther-4. Open Wreath, With L, Normal Border, Close Stars. MS-64 (NGC). CAC. Attractive satin surfaces display vivid bright gold patina and a sharp strike. This is the final variety of 1849 Open Wreath gold dollar produced, the circulation strike mintage accounting for most of the 688,567 coins delivered for the year.
