- 39 graded MS-63 RB, 160 higher at PCGS. Unusually attractive brick-red and greyish brown compete for dominance on both sides, with the obverse leaning a bit toward the reddish end of the spectrum while the reverse might be at least two-thirds brown. Bluish nuances accent some devices, mostly on the reverse. The 2-cent series was inaugurated by the "small motto" logotype, but was quickly replaced by the "large motto", resulting in a key variety that many collectors covet.
