Lot Description

Sharply struck and lustrous throughout, we note only a touch of friction on both sides keeping this rarity from a Mint State grade. The surfaces have a slight reflective flash to them ,and we see some minor marks using a strong glass. The reverse shows bold doubling in places, particularly in the lettering. PCGS CoinFacts estimates perhaps 40 examples survived in all grades, with about a handful remaining in Mint State. PCGS 7, NGC 6. The current PCGS value is listed at $4,750 and the most recent example to sell realized $3,525 in November 2014 (nearly four years ago!).
