Losbeschreibung: This is a lovely CHOICE XF example of this scarce variety. B-1, BB-82. Nicely struck from Bowers Die State III, the cracks on the reverse are bold and add charm to this piece. An important Red Book variety, as it is the only die marriage that has the 13 Star obverse with the Small Eagle reverse. This reverse die was left over from the previous year, used to strike BB-73. Pearly, light silver gray surfaces show hints of retained mint luster on the lightly circulated fields and devices. Some adjustment marks are seen at the central portion of obverse. A soft hint of lilac and pale gold add to the eye appeal. This is a great looking collector grade example. PCGS 29, NGC 14. The most recent example sold for $22,800 in the 2021 FUN auction and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $27,000. This Red Book variety is VERY RARE in AU or FINER, this one will fit nicely in any set of early dollars. Cert. Number 7247714 PCGS # 6867
