1828 N-10 R1 Small Date. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. CAC.Choice lustrous bluish steel and olive with generous traces of faded mint color remaining in protected areas on both sides. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is outstanding. Sharply struck and essentially flawless. The best identifying mark is a microscopic speck of lighter tan toning near the curl left of star 13. EDS with repunching visible along the right side of the 1 and at the right top of the first 8 in the date. Graded MS63 Choice and tied for CC#2 in the Noyes census. Bland says MS60+ and tied for CC#3. Our grade is MS63. A wonderful example of the Small Date version of this date, and it comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Nancy & Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 4 finer: 1 in 63+, 3 in 64.(PCGS # 36907) Value $8,000 - UP
