Manley Die State 11.0. Mint color has faded to golden-brown in some of the protected areas, both sides otherwise warmly toned in medium copper with underlying steel-blue. There is a light spot low in the right obverse field - the only blemish of note on otherwise smooth-looking surfaces. A bold to sharp strike enhances the eye appeal. With upward of 1,000 coins extant in all grades (per Bill Eckerg, 2019), the Cohen-6 has a generous population among die marriages of the 1804-dated half cent issue. With numerous collectible die states, however, this variety enjoys heightened demand among advanced half cent enthusiasts, with the result that market appearances for premium quality examples are fewer than one might expect given the total population. This is an especially nice PCGS MS-63 BN from a near-terminal die state defined by extensive cud breaks around approximately half of the reverse periphery. It is sure to catch the eye of astute bidders.
