Description du lot: 1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 7-E, W-4480. Rarity-6. Mailed Bust Left. EF-45 (PCGS). 98.3 grains. Attractive light brown surfaces are glossy and mostly hard though there are some very small flaws and a trace of microporosity. Three small shallow flaws are noted on the reverse, while one crosses the effigy’s lower neck. Beautifully centered on the obverse while the reverse is shifted toward the upper left affecting the tops of the leftmost legend. The date is full and the detail is fairly well balanced throughout. A handsome coin and though not the sharpest, it offers superior eye appeal. Provenance: From the Twin Leaf Collection of Connecticut & Massachusetts Coppers.
