- High Promises Collection. Type II / II, large mintmark, "18" touching in date. Satiny greyish bronze patina embraces the surface, punctuated by rust-gold accents. A decidedly well struck example. Frequently serving for type purposes, the 1877-S is one of the common Trade dollars and many collectors will gladly step up near the gem level for acquisition.
