Losbeschreibung: This is a low mintage KEY, PROOF ONLY date! Only 510 were reported struck and precious few have any kind of contrasted surfaces. Indeed, in DCAM, PCGS has graded a mere FOUR examples! That is really a major condition rarity! The blazing mirrored surfaces are deep and bold, with an exceptional cleanliness and clarity of reflection. The sharply impressed devices have a thick frost on both sides. There are some light toning flecks seen near the peripheries, but these are very minor and have little impact on the outstanding black and white contrast and superb eye appeal. Only 510 Proofs were struck of this PROOF ONLY date. PCGS 3, NGC 0, CAC 2. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $11,000. There is a single PCGS PR66+ DCAM finer, a coin that has never sold in auction. If you are working on the FINEST set of Proof Shield nickels, do not let this opportunity pass you by!
