Lot Description

1831 Capped Bust Half Dime. LM-3, V-2. Rarity-4. AU-58 (PCGS). A scarce die pairing and seldom found so attractive in high grades. Notice the deep russet and iridescent flecks of color that reside at the rims of the obverse and reverse, with the gunmetal-blue. Middle to later die state with the crack well developed through the first few stars, but that piece of the die is still stable and has not yet become a retained cud at the time of striking.
