1878 Morgan Silver Dollar. 7/8 Tailfeathers. Strong. MS-66 (PCGS). Resplendent silver-white surfaces are fully untoned with bountiful mint frost. Razor sharp in strike, and carefully preserved to support the high-end Gem grade from PCGS. A transitional hub variety from the first year of the Morgan Dollar series, the 7/8 Tailfeathers is obtainable enough in most Mint State grades. In MS-66, however, this variety is extremely rare, and Superb Gems are unknown to either PCGS or NGC.
