Lot Description

A wonderful GEM example of this final Liberty head date. Struck with only slight modifications since 1839, the 1908 is the end of an era. Vivid golden luster blooms boldly on both sides. Sharply struck and delicately toned with an iridescent pale blue at the peripheries imparting a wonderful look. Just a couple of very minor ticks keep this from an even loftier grade. PCGS 32, NGC 11. The most recent example sold in a May 2022 online only auction, realizing $2,075. A popular date. Cert. Number 2123796007 PCGS # 8418
