Lot Description

1786 Connecticut Copper. Miller 5.8-H.2, W-2625. Rarity-5+. Mailed Bust Left. VF-35 BN (NGC). Deep golden-tan surfaces. Obverse nicely centered, some weakness at AUCTORI, some scattered marks come to light under low magnification, many of them in the planchet when struck, reverse with softness at INDE and the upper portion of Liberty's torso, rim tight to tops of ET LIB and through bottoms of date numerals. A scarce variety in a highly collectable grade.
