Lot 278 1837 N-11 R1 Head of 1838 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved.Highly lustrous light bluish steel and olive with 5-10% of both sides showing mint red. A sharply struck cent with great eye appeal. The only marks are a few small spots including one at the bottom of the 7 and a speck of carbon on the rim over the F in OF. EDS but not quite the earliest. The obverse fields are starting to show microscopic radial flowlines but repunching is clearly visible on both sides of the 1 in the date. Our grade is MS63. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #37138.
