Lot Description

Lovely bright silver surfaces are fully untoned. This is a completely struck, boldly cameoed Superb Gem with outstanding visual appeal. Condition Census quality in a survivor from a Proof mintage that is likely on the order of 800 pieces. The confirmation of two die pairings point to multiple striking periods throughout the year. The JD-1, offered here, is readily attributable by the presence of a thin reverse die line on the left half of the ribbon knot.
