1886-S Liberty Eagle. MS-64 (NGC). Brilliant at the centers deepening to olive-gray toward the borders. Virtually all design features are defined to full advantage including Liberty's curls, the eagle's plumage and talons, the obverse stars, and the peripheral dentilation. The 1886-S is readily available in MS-63 and lower grades, but becomes an important condition rarity at the MS-64 level. NGC has never certified a specimen finer than MS-64.
