1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 15-F, W-2900. Rarity-3. Mailed Bust Left, CONNECT. Fine-12 (PCGS). 91.8 grains. A very lightweight example of this popular variety. Chocolate brown with light granularity and a major planchet crack from 3 o'clock that runs beyond the center of the obverse, from 9 o'clock to the shield on the reverse. Small area of verdigris under AU of AUCTORI. The vines on the shield are notably well struck. A very technically interesting specimen. PCGS# 349. Provenance: From the John "Jack" Royse Collection.
