Lot Description

123.4 grains. Medium mahogany brown with some blue-green accents on the higher points. Perhaps slightly unnatural in color, but not too distracting. A little granular, with some surface deposits and ancient reverse abrasions seen upon close study. Not quite as sharp on the obverse as the coin in the previous lot, but a hair sharper on the naturally weak reverse, even with a similar die state and resulting central bulge. This was August's preferred coin, the other having been offered as a duplicate in the summer of 2015.
